At JAM, I was tasked with being the Studio support on a postcard project from Petco, one of our American clients. Through this project, I got to develop my understanding of print/layout design and collaborate closely with the Production and Digital teams within the agency. Together with the use of XMPie, a software known for its variable data printing (VDP) solutions, we created a highly personalized print campaign. Once the file(s) were set up per the client's needs, the production of each unique postcard became increasingly easy and the only upkeep I had to do on my end was QA'ing and prepping new image assets every so often. Me intention isn't to downplay the complexity of the project though – there were round and rounds aaaaand rounds of trial and error to make everything work the way it was supposed to). Personally, I think it all paid off and, ultimately, I got the benefit of looking at cats and dogs all day.
